Please help, is this a weed?

Last year I threw a bunch perennial seeds in a small area and they are coming up but predominantly these.  If its weeds I need to pull them so others get light.  If its a flower, what is it?  Thanks

Re: Please help, is this a weed?

  • Sorry new to trying to pip.
  • What type of seed did you plant?
  • I planted a pack of seeds called perennial garden.  HTH
  • If you still have the seed packet, search for the varieties list on the packet and see if the plant matches up to one of the them.

  • It looks like marigolds I had last year. They came from a butterfly seed mixture and were huge. I didn't know that marigolds grew as tall (4" when I chopped them down) because they were blocking out sunlight/crowding my other flowers. Google different types of marigolds...they very well could be the American variety. Oh and by the way if I remember correctly the flowers don't look the same as the shorter varieties.
  • I agree with pp's I think it's a marigold.

Clearly I am the only person who sees a picture of a huge Ragweed, growing over the top of Marigolds!
