Cleaning out flower beds?

Does anyone know what this term means ("cleaning out" flower beds)? Our landscaper stated that he could do this - and I think it is putting in better soil, weeding, and getting the soil ready to plant... I am wondering because he would charge several hundred dollars and I think that I could do this myself. Any thoughts welcome!

Ask HIM to define the terms of his contract!

I agree that "clean out beds" is very vague. However, MY idea of what it means is quite different than yours- I would not have assumed that soil amendments would be part of it.

A contract for anything should be clear to you before you sign it. And there MUST be a written contract.

  • Yes- we decided to decline this particular portion of the contract since I would like to save the money and do it myself... but was just wondering if anyone is familiar with this phrase. I can certainly ask him if not...

I am highly familiar with the phrase. People use it all the time.
