The 10pm beer project = fail

I didn't get home until 9:30 last night. However, determined not to let slugs ravage my 2 day old petunias for the secund night in a row, I began to tear apartt my house looking for shallo containers to fill with beer and place in my garden.  Keep in mind, this garden is about 20ft. long!  Quite a few Solo cups bit the dust as I cut them down to size, then (in the dark of course) attempted to bury them up to the level of the soil) I filled them to the brim with beer- Miller Lite- Does it matter?! and hoped for the best.

9 hours later.  FAIL!!! WTH!  Chomped on flowers and empty beer containers. I carefully inspected my plants one by one to see if I could find the evidence of a culprit. There, on the last one- a bright yellow caterpillar/worm. It certainly did not look like the tobacco/tomato/othorm worm that I've ever seen. It was bright yellow!

WTF is this little monster. I refuse to let it take me and my summer gardent down! Angry

If you post a picture of the caterpillar, someone may be able to ID it.

    Swallowtail butterflies have yellow caterpillars.

Unfortunately, I looked that up, not it. It's completely solid yellow.  I did save and may post pic later. I about ran downa lady at my church this morning b/c I know she is a master gardener. Seems to have stumped her for the moment!

Yep. Already have the eggshells to deter cats (sharp on their paws) and did the diatomatious earth before the beer.

  • Maybe I'll line my garden with salt lick blocks instead of pavers!
