Do you believe in ghosts?
One of the girls on my club board is having problems with her three year old son saying that he's seeing a man in his room, and her dog is going nuts. She's heard him answer questions too. I'm a rationalist by nature, so I'm all for imaginary friend, but the dog thing is pretty weird (unless he's a yappy dog).
So, how about you? Ghosts? Yay? Nay?
Re: Do you believe in ghosts?
I'm wishy-washy.
I'm a pretty rational, logical person and I don't generally go for that kind of thing, and I don't believe in the "wooooooo!" type of ghost. No rattling chains or star crossed lovers moping around castles.
That said...when I was living in Ireland, I lived at a B&B (long term - it was the off season so I rented the room) in Limerick. It was the attic room, very cute and cozy - I had that one so I could have my own bathroom. Anyway, while I was there, I had probably 4-5...I don't know what to call them. Incidents? Experiences? It's hard to explain. Not like stuff flying across the room or anything, just these sudden feelings. Gawd that sounds lame lol!
I would be sitting there, totally happy and minding my own business, when suddenly I would be utterly overwhelmed with a sense of dread and horror. I mean really and truly overwhelmed, to the point where I would be frozen in place. And you know how you can get that sense that someone is looking at you, even when you can't see them? Something akin to that - an incredibly strong feeling that something was there...a presence. It sounds so stupid, but it was intensely frightening. Whatever these feelings were, whatever I was sensing, it wasn't coming from me - it was definitely something in that room. I always wondered if someone was murdered there or something, but I never had the nerve to ask the B&B owner about the history of the house (just in case I was right lol!).
I'm definitely a "yay". I had an experience as a child and my grandparents' house was definitely haunted (we're talking experiences by multiple people and faces in photos, etc). Plus MH and I love Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures. I love all that stuff - which everyone around me finds funny because I'm a huge scaredy-cat as well. I have been known to sleep with the lights on...

I'm a believer that there is another life outside of us. Although I have not experienced this first hand, I believe it is possible.

Really!!! Why did the one scare you and you liked the other. These stories are so interesting to me, so you mind telling more?

Tell tell!
Okay, the scary one looked like a nurse from the 1930's or something...she had a green glow and one of those startched hats and a buttoned up/belted dress. Sory of like this. She also had a huge needle in her hand and that scared me to death! She was always in our upstairs coat closet where we kept the vaccuum. She never said anything to me but had that needle like she was prepping to use it. YIKES!
The other ghost, the friendly one...was a very old man who would sometimes sit on the edge of my bed. He had a whitish blue glow and was very loving and friendly. He seemed very grandfatherly and I'd only catch a glimpse of him from behind or the side. He'd sit on the edge of the bed and pat the covers and then be gone.

Ok, ghost story tellers...I'm sitting here, alone, in the dark, at1:40am and you all can stop now because I'm feeling cold chills on the back of my neck and getting CREEPED OUT!
I have stories too. But I'm gonna go wake the husband and go to bed before I get TOO scared.
