Newbie going crazy (zucchini help, please!)
Hi all,
So, I finally started planting (as in, during my lifetime - I, umm, actually can't remember when I planted, at least a month ago).
I have zucchini sprouting. For some reason, despite my googling for the last hour, I can't figure out if they grow under or above ground??? I know I am suppose to harvest around 6 inches.
Also, are there any websites y'all recommend for identifying veggies and herbs in your garden? (Ugh, I forgot to put identifiers - I FAIL)
Any help is appreciated, thanks so much! :-)

First I promise I'm not laughing at you. I have done this before and it was just a surprise as to what came up. You won't do it again.
It's pretty safe to say that you're zucchini will grow above ground unless well of course it's not zucchini
This site is pretty good since it has pictures. I know there are others out there too that show u each phase. I'll check.

Just think of it as a prolonged vegetative Christmas.
Thank you so much for the help, I really appreciate it! :-)
(Also, appreciate the non laughing. LOL)
I've learned what my herbs look like just by buying them at the grocery...that should help. Also, when they start coming up you'll be able to smell them just by rubbing your fingers on them.
Good luck!
Here's a good one to identify the seedlings once they've started to get their "real" leaves. I'm actually having a similar issue -- I dumped everything that hadn't sprouted into a bowl to resuse the soil, and of course everything started to sprout, so I have mystery seedlings! I still have the packages, so at least I know my options are limited, but it was a pretty wide variety. Good luck identifying!

Oh - and this might help with the zucchini.

Thank you all so much!
Great links! :-)
Is it sad that I just looked at that to see if I could identify the plants without looking at the answers. Total nerddom.
