PSA: Aluminum and Paraben free deodorant 99 cents
Arm and Hammer's new aluminum and paraben free deodorant is on sale for 99 cents at Rite Aid this week. It comes in unscented and fresh scent. I used it today and liked it so I went and got a few more.
I had tried making my own, but it gave me a rash (I think from the corn starch) so this is my best alternative.

Thanks for the tip.

I am glad you found something you love!
Regarding the rash--were you using it right after shaving? If so, the baking soda can get in the tiny cuts left by shaving and cause redness and flaking.
Thanks for the tip - I've been looking for a better deodorant!
Just out of curiosity, is it women-specific, or is it unisex? I guess if it's unscented, anyone could use it? (Looking for some new deodorant for DH, too...)
It contains triclosan. That's what makes it a deoderant, the triclosan kills the bacteria that makes you smell, just like it kills bacteria in anti-bacterial soap. I'm using A&H now and it works okay, but I'm on the hunt for something better since it has triclosan. Even with the triclosan, I think it's a much better alternative than Aluminum conventional deoderant.
ETA: I use it right after shaving and do not get a rash. I would say it's unisex, but since it works okay for me (5'3" 140 lbs) I doubt it would work for a man. I still haven't found a deoderant that works even moderately well for DH, he's still on Old Spice after trying Tom's, Crystal, and Burt's Bees.
I got that weird error message when I did ETA on my response above, in the past when I see that error my post gets eaten. This is a test to see if my post above, which says this, gets eaten:
I think it could be unisex.
And to the person who asked... I didn't just shave before I got the rash from the homemade kind. However, I did read corn starch often causes a rash and/or a fungus... yikes!
