Using Gardenia Blooms/Branches in the House

I know nothing about flowers and gardening.  I have been lurking on this board, total gardening virgin, and finally got up the courage to plant window boxes this weekend on our new house!  Nothing fancy, just begonias and some yellow weed type flower that came in a basket from Home Depot, the woman said that if I killed those flowers (planted in Miracle Grow Moisture Control- its a hot in Alabama), I needed serious help.  So far so good.

BUT I just realized- WE HAVE A GARDENIA TREE IN FULL BLOOM ON THE SIDE OF OUR HOUSE!!  I feel like I found some mythical creature and I am quite certain that I would never have been able to grow one myself. I am having a baby shower here at the house this weekend and wanted to know, what is a way that I can use gardenia blooms/blooms on branches in the house?  Do I use just the bloom?  Brances and all in a tall vase?  Will they be as fragrant in the home?
