Recommend areas to live in CFL??
DH and I will be relocating to Central Florida in Nov. I am from Tampa, but not too familiar with the Orlando area other than the Disney traffic. Can you recommend areas that you would want to live in or where to stay away from? I know Central FL is huge, but we don't have time to check out all the areas individually.
Any advice you can give would be a huge starting point for us. We don't have kids nor do we want to be in an area close to UCF with a lot of students. We both work in law enforcement and just want a nice quiet place to settle down. Thanks for any tips you can give!
Re: Recommend areas to live in CFL??
I agree that where you work is really important in finding an area to live in. The traffic here can be pretty bad.
We just moved to Baldwin Park from Wisconsin and love the area and the location. My husband works in Winter Park so we are close for him. I work all over the state and appreciate the easy access to the 408 and I-4. We also lookied in College Park and Thornton Park...two of my favorite Orlando locations!
We lived here in Orlando before moving to WI and lived in East Orlando and felt like we were too far away from where we wanted to be and where we worked. So again, knowing where you are going to work is vital in picking a living location.
Good luck!
My hubba and I will be moving to Camden Renaissance in the Altamonte Springs area next month. It's just off of I-4, quite a bit further from the Disney traffic but only 10 minutes from downtown Orlando. They do background checks on the residents at this location and you can actually monitor the prices of rent on their Web site. They have like 8 locations in the Central Florida area alone so you can see which one you like.
I lived in Kissimmee for 20 years, I went to UCF and I work near Disney/Sea World. We did quite a bit of shopping around when looking for apartments and this place was by far the nicest and most comfortable, but location is pretty much everything. There are a lot of places on Semoran Blvd near the airport but traffic is pretty bad over there. Good luck!
