Was I Offensive?
I picked up on the fact that the doctor I have been going to has gained some weight. I could sort of tell that it was pregnancy weight but I never assume. No matter how far along someone is, I would never inquire unless the person has told me that they are pregnant. Well, yesterday she looked very pregnant but I still didn't say anything. Then, she mentioned something about how she isn't able to travel since she is in the third trimester. So then I said "Oh! You are having a baby! Congrats!." She thanked me and then started acting weird towards me like she was offended by something I did. Should I have responded in a different way like maybe not acting surprised? I'm not sure why this is bothering me so much. DH said maybe she thought I was implying that I thought she was just fat by acting surprised.
