What did you get your H for your first wedding anniversary?

Tradition is to give a paper gift for the first anniversary.  Our gift to each other was a trip to the Bahamas.  The tickets and hotel reservations were "paper".

Nothing I can remember, except we took a trip to Traverse City (where we had our honeymoon).

We haven't really exchanged gifts, except for cards.

But if you wanted to stick to traditional paper you could do tickets to a game or show.

We usually do vacations or just go out for a nice dinner instead of exchanging gifts.

We decided not to do anniversary gifts. We will just save the money and go away for the night. We went to a bed and breakfast (The Shack) for our first anniversary.

I got him a bottle of Versace cologne.

We got a hotel for a few nights in Niagara Falls (Cnd side).

We got each other gifts, but I don't remember.  That is kind of sad because I'm sure it was something expensive, probably electronic.  Now that it has been six years, we don't really do gifts anymore, but go on a trip to somewhere we have never been together before.  Our first year was New York City.

We also try to take a trip. The first year, we just did one night at a small B&B on Mackinac Island - it was all we could afford, but it was great!

We spent the night in a B&B in Saugtuck and went wine tasting. He hates B&BS but it had a private hot tub on the patio, so I think that made up for it.

For a gift, I just gave him a mouse pad with pics from our honeymoon. He gave me one of the premade scrapbooks from Hallmark to put wedding pictures in.

He got me a dozen roses and I got him (us) a 1 1/2 hour soak at Oasis Hot Tubs. It was nice and relaxing since we our anniversary is at the beginning of Dec.

I got him a watch.  I think he got me a gift certificate for a pedicure?  Not sure.  We took a trip that week too.  Maybe Florida?

We alternate planning surprise weekends for the other.  That year, he went golfing with my Dad-- who then dropped him off downtown and we had dinner at Notos (where we had our reception the year before) and a night at the Amway.
