I'm not scared of toilet seats unless they are visually nasty. I figure most butts are covered and therefore clean-ish. If they are wet I will wipe them off. I noticed that sometimes the?toilets?spit water on them while flushing so it's not always pee.
I'm more scared of the automatic hand dryers. My sister worked for a supply company that installed these and the studies she shared with me.....gross. They have filters in them and all the gross stuff in the air gets stuck in them, when you sneeze, fecal mater, other air borne crap and then you blow it all back on your clean hands and walk out. I now wipe my hands in my shirt if there are not other options.
