I said other because we have a mix. We haven't lived in our house for quite a year - so as bulbs burn out I'm changing them over. The exception was our living room light - it got changed to the compact when we first moved in because the light had these awful gold-light bulbs - ick. lol

  • okay, I did better in this poll. lol
  • We use mostly incandescent, but that b/c most every light in our house is on a dimmer.  The lights that aren't on dimmers are CFLs, and as they burn out, we are switching to dimmable CFLs.

  • We have a newer construction and almost every light was already CFL.  So this was an easy one for me.  :)
  • We have all CFLs except for the light fixtures over food areas (dining room and kitchen island).  DH is very stubborn about "one of those curly lightbulbs breaking and contaminating our food prep areas with mercury."  It's not worth picking a fight over so I let it go.

  • We have a mix, mainly because we inherited enough ordinary lightbulbs to last a few lifetimes from my grandma.  She was hoarding incandescents in anticipation of a future banning.  Tongue Tied

Er... so if a regular bulb broke, you'd eat food filled with teeny glass shards? And how are these bulbs breaking???

    Mine are all CFLs.

Edited to add: Except three halogens in my bathroom light fixture. I've lived there 3+ years and never changed them, and that's the only kind that you can use (that I know of) in the fixture. Someday I'll change the fixture, but that's not happening anytime soon.

I have a mix. I'm slowly replacing them as the regular ones burn out.
