Hey ladies! DH and I are planning a mini vaca in July to Miami (driving down from Tampa) and are looking for ideas on what to do and places to eat. We aren't really partiers, so night clubs are not our thing. We like the beach, science/history museums, etc. Any suggestions would be awesome! TIA!
Re: Miami vacation recs?
What area are you going to be staying at? If stayin on Miami Beach, I highly recommend Lincoln Road (pedestrian street). It is has a lot to offer! Restaurants, shopping, bars, people watching, and close to the beach, especially if staying close by, you can walk there.
Smith & Wollensky is a great steakhouse on the sourthern most point of South Beach. It has a great patio area overlooking the water. High end restaurant, but if celebrating something in particular, good choice. Right next store is Joe's Stone Crab, but not sure if will be open (seasonal restaurant).
The Gables is also a nice area, but about a 20 min drive to the beach. Miracle Mile has a lot of hotels, restaurants, and shops. Dh and I just ate at Ortinique on the Mile (mediterranean) and were pleasently surprised! Great food, moderate prices.
As for museums, Viscaya is very pretty, and in the Grove area (not too far from beach).
