Hello New Friends!

Hi Ladies!  My name is Lindsay and I've been a member on The Nest for many years.  I usually frequent the SAIF (Success after Infertility) board.  My husband and I are from Mid-Missouri but have lived in Houston for the last two years.  My husband has been promoted in his company and we are moving to STL!!  I am so excited.  His job is actually on the Illinois side so we are thinking Fairview Heights, O'Fallon, Edwardsville, etc.  Any advice on those areas would be great!  I am excited to get to know you ladies!

  • Hello!

I'm new on this board, too, but I live on the Illinois side so I thought I'd welcome you, too!

I live in Edwardsville right now; just fyi, rent is pretty high here because of the university.  If you're looking to buy, property taxes are high, too!  (We just looked at houses and decided not to buy right now).  I'm originally from Belleville, and personally I think Fairview and O'Fallon are pretty good places to live, too :)

    When do you move?

  • We will be moving at the end of June.  I think we will have to rent for a while until our house here sells.  I noticed rent was high in the O'Fallon area too so we may be stuck in a 2 bedroom apartment with two dogs and a baby!  Fun, fun!

  • If you are looking just to rent for a while and not concerned with schools yet, Belleville or Collinsville is probably going to be the most reasonable pricing wise. O'fallon, Shiloh and Edwardsville are going to be the most expensive.

  • I don't have any advice about any of the Illinois towns you are looking at but wanted to say welcome.  This board is kind of slow but everyone is very friendly.

  • Welcome to the board and welcome back to STL!
