I saw that you lived in St. Pete.  Did you grow up there?  Go to school there?  I'm wondering if we're close in age...I'm 33.  I was born there and lived there most of my life.  I miss it!

Re: ~*~Diane_BN~*~

  • Yup, I was born in St. Pete and lived there until I was 12. I loved growing up there, but having moved away at such a young age, I feel like I don't know the city as well as I should. Like, when we go back to visit family, I never really know my way around.

It's a cool place, though. My husband and I just took a little weekend getaway there in July, and it totally reminded me of how much I like it there. I love the history and character of the old homes and buildings in the area. History is something that Orlando's definitely a little short on! LOL

Before I moved away, I went to Woodlawn Elementary and Baypoint Middle. All of my cousins who still live there (and my mom and aunts and uncles, for that matter) went to Northeast High, though. Which schools did you go to there?

  • I went to Seminole Elementary, Pinellas Park Middle and Dixie Hollins High.  I actually lived in Pinellas Park, but no one has ever heard of that so it is just easier to say St. Pete.  What year did you graduate HS?  I graduated in 92.

  • Oh, I know what you mean about people not knowing where that is. I would just be happy if people would realize that St. Pete and Tampa are two separate places! When my DH tells people we're "going to Tampa" for the weekend (when we're going to St. Pete), I get all mad at him. LOL

I graduated in '99 from Winter Park H.S. (I moved here my senior year. Boo!) It's so weird to think about the fact that it's been almost ten years since then. The time has gone fast!
