Hi ladies! We made it to LA . Man, the last couple of weeks have been beyond stressful! We had so much to pack and then the movers had to come a day early. I seriously almost had a heart attack! Ugh, it's all over now and we are just chilling in our empty apartment with an air mattress.
So far one of our neighbors seems to be a huge jerk. We live in a dog friendly building and he/she left a note on our door saying "Your dog won't stop barking!! Help!!" Mind you, we were home and the dog was only barking when people were in front of our door. I couldn't believe that someone would leave a note on our door without even meeting us first. Then, last night we left and I put the dog in her travel crate and turned off the lights. Well, I guess Sandy was nervous and barking (she will adjust soon) and the same person called and complained to the building manager! Luckily, the manager thinks the person is being a bit ridiculous and is siding with us, but it made me feel unwelcome. Today we are introducing ourselves to our two neighbors and I am hoping to keep an open mind, but I already think this person is a jerk!
Anyway, I know we will adjust soon and it will feel like home here. Right now though it's a little strange to be so far away from all of our friends and family. I predict feeling homesick pretty soon
I hope you all are well!
Re: I'm no longer a SoFla Nestie!
I'm glad you made it safely! As far as being away from all family and friends, it gets better, I promise! It took some major adjustment, but thankfully you have each other.
GL with the grouchy neighbor, I'm glad the manager thinks he is a bit nuts! Sandy will adjust too, it took our dogs about a month to be completely comfortable.
Glad you made it safely! It will definitely take some adjusting for everyone, but I'm sure it will get easier. So happy for both of you guys!
As far as the grouchy neighbor, I hope that once you meet him he will stop being a jerk. Glad the building manager is siding with you though. Sandy will adjust, and as soon as she's comfortable she'll be back to normal
Michi I am so glad to hear that you made it safely to LA. I am sure it must be hard to be away from friends and family but there are so many ways you can keep in communication with them that you will be adjusted to the distance in no time.
Ugh what a grouchy neighbor. I hope once he meets you guys he/she will feel bad for being such a jerk to nice people. This is all new for Sandy as well so she will need some adjusting too.
Good luck and don't be a stranger.
I hate your neighbor
I am going to be in LA in July... I'll let you know when I'm there
