are there any natural/organic deodorants that..

won't give me a rash? And what is it in there that gives me the rash? I've tried both Nature's Gate and Kiss My Face and I get a horrible rash. I'd really prefer to use natural/organic to Suave/Secret, but especially in the summer when I wear sleeveless shirts I can't deal with the rashes.

Re: are there any natural/organic deodorants that..

  • I have this problem too, and I think it's the moisture. I need an anti-perspirant.
  • Crystal. I use the roll-on. Works like a charm.
  • My bff raves about her jason deoderant, esp. lavendar.  I just haven't been able to try it yet since I still have some of my current one left
  • I get rashes too.

The crystal works great for me.

I have also tried Tom's, Arm and Hammer, TJ's brand and . . .JASON in addition to KMF.  Every single one gave me a rash.

  • Most of the normal antiperspirant that people use give me rashes and make me itch like crazy.  As in, I look like a monkey scratching my underarms so much.  I haven't been able to figure out what in the world causes the itchiness and it's SO frustrating!

I switched to plain deodorants that are more natural and have still had issues.  I've had the best luck with the crystal kind that you run under water then apply.  BUT, it's just finally started to warm up (and by warm up I mean made it into the 60s) and I've been so wet and stinky.

I think I'm going to suck it up and go back to a crappy annoying not-so-healthy antiperspirant and deodorant during the summer months.  And during the winter, use the crystal.  At least a few months of the year I'll be healthier.

  • I just got a tea tree oil based deodorant last night.  Now my issue with other brands of deodorant wasn't getting a rash, it was the fact that it didn't work.  So I'm going to try this one and see how it works.

FWIW, this deodorant also has lavender oil in it as well.    It's called Dessert Essecene Tea Tree Oil Deodorant.  I found it at Whole Foods

  • Alba tea tree is the only one that worked for me....all the other ones I've tried gave me a rash or didn't work that well.   I do keep a Dove anti-perspirant  (the Ultimate, sensitive skin one) in the house for days I know I'm going to sweat a lot, but for normal days, the Alba one works great.
  • I had the same problem until I switched to GudonyaToo's Stinky No More Deodorant.  I no longer have the rash and in fact my skin is really soft now.  It also works really well to keep me fresh-smelling even though I spend most of the day chasing after kids outside in the hot sun sweating.  My friend who used to use prescription deodorant used it one day and has used it ever since and claims it works just as well as her expensive prescription stuff.

It worked for me today and I went to work at my part-time job too (retail).

  • He ladies~

I use a deodorant from Lush.  It works really well, and I know they have different kinds for different issues =)  Good Luck!
