Questions from an out-of-towner

Hi ladies,

My fiance and I will be traveling to Cleveland next weekend for a quick getaway. We have tickets to see the Indians  on Saturday evening and will be staying at the Residence Inn that is located downtown (on Prospect Avenue). I just had a few questions:

-I'm a huge Iron Chef fan and would love to eat at Michael Symon's restaurant Lola.  Do any of you know if Lola has a dress code, or even a preferred one? Since we'll be going to the game and it will be summertime, I want us to be comfortable but don't want to go to a restaurant in shorts and look out of place/sloppy if everyone else is more appropriately dressed.

-The Residence Inn is not too far of a walk to Progressive Field but when I mapped it on Google Maps it says that some of the sidewalks were out. Since it's such a short distance I don't want us to have to move the car, but is the walk doable from the hotel to the stadium?

TIA ladies!

Re: Questions from an out-of-towner

  • I would dress up to Lola!!! It is a little more dressy than lolitas. Lolitas had a little more normal food but you will have to take a taxi there. The walk is ok. However, I would not hang out of the streets for long, East 4th is ok but stick to the main streets. West 6th is another great area. It has alot of local bars and fun resturants. The corner Ally has bowling and is fun as well. The choc bar is right across Euclid and is great for drinks as well.
  • I just ate at Lolita's for the first time this weekend.  It was GREAT!  I can only imagine what Lola is like.  If you are willing to take the taxi to Tremont where Lolita is, I think it's worth it.  Lola is more on the dressy side yes and more expensive.  Totally up to you though!  Lola would probably be a lot more convenient to get to and like wpgrace said, you can go to the chocolate bar!  (By the way wpgrace, we need to go there!!)
  • I know! I had lunch at the choc bar and it was good! I want choc from there, cake something. lol
