favorite bug sprays?

Since you ladies tend to spend a lot of time outdoors with your gardens, thought you might have some good suggestions to warding off bugs.
We sprayed the lawn with Cutter on Th but we were still bit on Friday evening when we were entertaining.  Is there a better Lawn spray or does anyone like using those zappers to lure and kill bugs?

Also, any particular brand to spray on your body or citronella candles that work especially well?  We have mosquitos and  a lot of those "no see ums".  We don't have any standing water so there's nothing that is causing the problem that I can identify.

Thanks!

I have plenty of mosquitoes, but I never treat the environment, I only treat myself. I spray DEET on exposed skin: usually ankles, arms, hands, neck, hair- and just a tiny spray works very effectively. They stay away completely.

And as far a breeding water- it can be in places you never thought about, like a small cavity in a tree trunk or branch, the gutters on your house, or a big, slightly curled leaf lying on the ground under some shrubs. Just a tablespoon of water can yield about a hundred mosquitoes. I've walked around property with clients before who swore they had no standing water, and they were horrified when I showed them mosquito larvae in a frisbee and on a tarp covering their bbq grill.
