Mover recommendations?

We are moving within the Lakeview area.  Anyone have Chicago local mover recomendations that you could share?  Thanks!

Re: Mover recommendations?

  • We used Windy City Movers in Andersonville for our move in April.  They were on time, all spoke English, and even asked us to review them for Angie's list.  They care about their reputation.  Make sure you get the first appointment though.  I know we made them late for their next appointment.

  • Do NOT use The Professionals.  They were super late, took longer than estimated so we ended up owing extra money, and scratched a couple pieces of our furniture that were practically brand new.

  • I just moved a couple of weeks ago and used a company called Movetastic based on glowing reviews on Yelp.  They were awesome!!  Can't recommend them enough.  We moved into a 4th floor walkup so it was not an easy move - they were total pros and really fast!
  • We used Check Mate to move from wrigleyville to south loop...in 3 hours, everything from apartment #1, was in apartment #2 and movers were gone.  it was amazing lol they charged $100/hour

We used Check Mate to unload our truck when we first moved to Chicago and I had a mixed review.  They didn't follow some of the care instructions on our good furniture since they were very rush rush to get the job done.
