Want want want!!
I've been slacking on reading Engadget lately, so I didn't realize this was so close to release. The info that Apple sent out this morning looks pretty awesome.
I've got a 3GS, so I know the iPhone 4 isn't really in the cards right now, but it seems kinda awesome.
I'm also rather excited about the iOS4 update. I'm surprised they hadn't tackled multitasking earlier.
Anyone planning on picking up the iPhone 4?

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

Re: iPhone 4
I also heard that they are no longer offering the unlimited data plan. Now they have these two plans.
DataPro 2GB for Smartphone for $25 a month
or
DataPlus 200MB for Smartphone for $15 a month
Do these new data plans apply to the iPhone or just other smartphones?

The new data plans apply to iPhones from here on out. If you already have the $30 a month unlimited plan, then you can renew your contract & upgrade without giving that up. Otherwise, you'll have to choose one of the new plans, which have a cap of 200MB or 2GB before they start charging you per MB.
I'll consider getting whatever new version of iPhone is out when I'm eligible for upgrade, but that won't be until next year for me
I'll be preordering one on June 15! I can't wait!
My old iPhone 3G is past due for an upgrade!
As for those wondering about the new data plans, as a PP mentioned, if you are currently an iPhone user and have the unlimited data plan, you can continue with the unlimited data plan (even if you purchase an iPhone 4 and renew your contract), but you can also lower your plan if you choose. One must have had the iPhone data plan (unlimited) on their phone prior to June 7, however, to be grandfathered in.
My husband and I totally planned this out just so we could get the Iphone 4..
We switched to AT&T on Friday from Tmobile (we are also now getting 22%% off our monthly bill due to where I work!)..The main reason being we wanted to make sure we got grandfathered in to unlimited interent...
we asked them while we were there switching-- what if we wanted to "upgrade" to the new phone.. They basically told us this..You have 30 days to exchange your phone after you buy it.. we risked it hoping the new one would be out in 30 days.. so we purchased our Iphone 3gs on the 4th.. and now have until July 4th to "exchange" (and pay a 20% restocking fee)...
YAY for working the system!!!! (we also verified this two seperate times with AT&T customer service...)
