IKEA Mattress Recall

Ikea recalls 1,900 Mexican-made mattresses

Don't meet U.S. flammability standards

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 8, 2010

WASHINGTON ? Retail giant Ikea has recalled about 1,900 mattresses sold at its U.S. stores that don't meet federal mattress flammability standards.

The recall, made in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, involves Ikea's Sultan Heidal innerspring mattresses that were sold between June 2007 and April 2010.

The CPSC said the mattresses, which were designed to be used without a foundation, were produced in Mexico, but the name of the manufacturer was not available.

The commission said consumers should stop using the mattresses immediately and contact their local Ikea store for instructions on returning it for a replacement or full refund.

A list of model numbers is available on the CPSC website at http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10256.html.
