I think I'm going to start using this for travel planning (restaurants).

Re: Eat Well Guide

  • Neat!  Thanks for posting this.  I was all excited when it returned 22 restaurants in my zip code, but 18 of them are Chipotle's Tongue Tied

ETA: Not that I don't *love* Chipotle, I just got excited about finding new restaurants in my area.

  • Thank you SO MUCH for posting this!  I have really been researching area options for local produce and humanely-raised eggs, meat, and poultry, and a half hour with this website gave me much more information than I have been able to find after countless hours on Google!

I now have a new farmer's market to check out next Friday!  I work every weekend as a nurse, so the Saturday markets don't work for me, but there is one about a half hour from my home that is open every Friday afternoon!  I can't wait to check it out!

  • Ahh Berkeley. 35 hits within one mile of me.
  • (that includes 22 restaurants, most of which I have never eaten at because they're too expensive!)
  • 32 here......although it's calling Whole Foods a restaurant, a CSA, a farmer's market, etc......while i do love WF, i don't understand how they can classify it as all those things!

I had no idea what this was, so I looked...

Yikes.. does not look so good, and you eat this in your car??

I couldn't find any reason they should be on this list.

    Oh wait... here http://www.eatnpark.com/menu_farmsource.asp

I had a lot of results in my area, but haven't really gone through them. It lists one coffee shop - Whole Foods in Redmond - although I have a closer Whole Foods, and a closer organic fair-trade coffee shop. Hmm.

Whole Foods is also listed as an 'organization'. Well, I guess...

I looked through restaurants and its missing some well known 'eco-conscious', local ones, but still a good list.

There's a place to submit places.  Hopefully the list will keep growing so we have more options other than Chipotle and Whole Foods!

  • 1 restaurant.  I just live waaaaaaaaay too close to the deep south.  DH and I were just talking about this.  Sometimes I feel like a nutcase with all of these crap eaters... ugh

  • Eat n' Park is similar to Perkins, Friendly's, etc.  Although the name suggests that you eat in your car, it's a sit-down restaurant.  I never found it particularly earth-friendly though.
