shred days 21-30

day 21: check! woooo this level is hard. It's a lot of plank and plyometrics and not so much weight training. My legs are shaking from round 3.

    Craaaaaaaaaaaaaap.  I don't even know what plyometrics is but it doesn't sound pleasant.

    hmm it doesnt sound like something I should do at 5:30am if I don't want to wake up the people upstairs...too much shaking of the house.

  • Day 22: check! Not gettin any easier though...I did run before I did it today so I was a little tight, but it still took a lot of struggle. 
  • WOOO!  I love level 3!!  Except for three things: sumo jumps suck, there's not enough arms stuff, and that last ab move, which, once again, I can't feel on my abs!  Grrrr.

    Jillian sounds like she has a cold in level three :(  And she's starting to grow on me.

  • Oh, and she mentioned that I should have a six pack if I had done the shred in combination with her diet.  Was there a specific diet?  I am far from a six pack right now... hahaha.

    There is a book she wrote called "making the cut" and it has a 30 day diet and exercise plan, but you can sub the 30ds in place of her exercise plan in the book. I have it and did it for about 5 days and couldn't stick to it. There were too many recipes I couldn't eat because of my food allergies and she loves eggplant and fennel and those are two veggies I can't stand! I'll eat almost anything else.

    OMG I LOVE THIS ONE!

    Everything is a lot more fun, and i looove the walking pushups...they make me feel powerful!

    The only thing is the squat jumps ...i feel like i'm shaking the whole damn house, and i feel bad for the people upstairs.

    OMG I LOVE THIS ONE!

    Everything is a lot more fun, and i looove the walking pushups...they make me feel powerful!

    The only thing is the squat jumps ...i feel like i'm shaking the whole damn house, and i feel bad for the people upstairs.

    I feel like that would be worse if the people were downstairs not upstairs.  The people who live above me do a work out video every day and I feel like they're going to come crashing through the ceiling!  But I never really thought they could hear me.  You just have be "light on your feet!"  Haha.

    Remember how frustrated I was because I wasn't losing any weight?  Well, last night I had a dream that I lost five pounds and I got on the scale this morning... and I lost five pounds!  I wasn't going to keep going with the DVD after day 30 if I didn't see any lbs lost, but now I'm definitely going to keep going, at least to some extent.

    That's awesome! some girls on the H&F board were saying that sometimes it can take your body up to 6 weeks to finally start to lose weight!

    Good job! It's always hard to get back into a workout after taking time off. Yeah - my runs are starting to get up into 45 minutes and then another 30 minutes of shred makes for a lot of working out in one day! 

  • Day 26: check!
  • Day 27 done.  I missed yesterday because we were so busy and I didn't get home until 10 pm.  There's no way I'm doing a second one now, maybe later tonight.

  • Day 27 done! I am feeling great about this level now. I've been using 5 lb weights and struggling, but today I upped it to 7.5 for level 2, and rocked out the cardio level with them, I was in shock. My jumps are also really improving, I'm getting lots of air and having nice soft landings. I'm really excited now that I'm getting better at this level lol. I also ran for 25 minutes this morning without any breathing problems or calf cramps, only some minor toe blisters. Wooooohooooo for a great workout day!

    haha and funny story. I wore a pair of running capris and a racer back tank to the store the other night with H to grocery shop and caught him blatantly checking me out! I'm talking the full looking up-and-down, type of checking out. IT.WAS.AWESOME!
