you can collect UE, yes? I know, it doesn't make it better, but it's something.
File for UE right away!! I'm pretty sure you can start collecting as soon as school gets out.
Our district ended up hiring a bunch of teachers in October because we were all over our numbers, we hired back 5 teachers at my school alone. I'll keep my fingers crossed that something will open up for you! And of course I will keep you posted if I hear of anything.

Not sure what district you're working with, but you might consider looking at Charter schools -- a bunch in the LA area were/are hiring.

It frustrates me (for you and the kids) that the school is losing such a passionate teacher (at least from what I see in your posts). Teachers like you are hard to come by.
