xp:Thanks ladies for welcoming me, but unfortunately we're moving back to California
My husband, DS, and I moved here a little over a year ago when my
husband was forced to take a transfer in his company to Portland, or
basically be laid off. We were very excited to move here and
experience the wonders that are Oregon. We have loved so much about
living here and were making plans to set up our lives here
permanently..however due to complications in this pregnancy I started
preterm labor 2 weeks ago, my doctor placed me on bedrest for the
duration of my pregnancy. Since we don't have family or a friend base
here to help with my two year old, this has made it difficult. My
husband had to take some unpaid time off work and my mom had to fly up
for a little while (she can't stay for the 3 months I have left of my
pregnancy nor would I expect her to). So our best option is to make
the move back. It will be so nice to be near all our family again, but
there are many downsides for us to be in California one of which is not
knowing the position my husband will be able to have in his company, he
may have to take a serious paycut/demotion which we are still waiting
to hear news on, and as some of you may know California is a very
expensive place to live and raise a family. So..we may be back one day
if the opportunity arises, but in the meantime I wanted to thank you
all for your warm welcome and advice over the past 16 months!
