All you San Fran ladies

Ok so looks like we might be going to San Fran in October for our 1 year anniversary. My DH best friend is moving there and he is so upset I am giving in and letting us go there so we can see his friend as well as celebrate our anniversary. I love CA so it doesnt really bother me. But I need some suggestions for things to do with just us 2. Places to stay, places to go, things to do, places to eat etc? We will be renting a car so if there is a place that is a couple hours away send those suggestions as well. We will be there at the beginning of october from a Sat-Sat or Sun.

  • As I was reading your post, I got all excited since we're going to San Fran in October for our anniversary!  But then I read on and you're going to San Diego - beautiful city too.  The only time I was there, was years and years ago, but I loved it.  We stayed in Coronado at Hotel Del Coronado.  If you don't want to stay there, at least visit.  The hotel is amazing!!!  Absolutely gorgeous and right on the beach.

We went so long ago, I don't remember where we ate.  I can recommend the Wild Animal Park though.  I'm not a big zoo person, but this place is really cool.  You get to see the animals in their actual habitats.  Way different atmosphere than the zoo.

  • I haven't been (yet) but we are going to San Diego later this month! I will let you know what we do and any recommendations after we get back while it's fresh in my mind.

Sorry I am so late!  I was in TX visiting my mama.  San Diego is awesome- great weather and fabulous beaches.  I have only stayed in SD once or twice (because we live about 1.5 hours away) so I don't have many hotel recommendations.  I love the Hotel Del Coronado (it's where they filmed "Some Like It Hot" with Marilyn Monroe) so definitely visit there!  SD is also a big naval/marine town so there are a ton of ships in the harbor and you can even tour some of the retired submarines (if that kind of stuff interests you).   The San Diego Padres stadium is in the heart of downtown and is really cool so see a game if you have time.  Old Town San Diego is one of my favorite places to eat- tons of great Mexican food and lots of things to see.  Definitely visit the beach and see a sunset!  If you are looking for fine dining, head to La Jolla (a suburb of SD that is a little more "rich").  And if you are looking for night life- go to the gas lamp district!
