He got a little green cast this morning :-( Seriously though, he doesn't care one bit about it and is already crawling around like a pro.
The ortho said he sees at least one baby/toddler each week that has this exact. same. injury. He said 99% of the time, it's daddy taking the kid down the slide, the foot catches and *snap* there goes the bone. He said babies and toddlers bones are meant to bend, but if there's any twisting action at all, it will break.
We go back in two weeks, the day before his birthday, and they will cut the cast off, re-xray it and either let him go or put the cast back on him. Because Ry isn't walking yet and because he's so young, the healing time will likely be very quick.
I will say, as far as a cast on my son goes, it is pretty dang cute.
Re: Update on Ryan
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Wow - it's crazy how much more quickly kid bones heal than adult bones. And also crazy how common an injury it is!
Glad he's taking in well and he's on the road for a speedy recovery.
I agree. The picture was adorable!
Hope he heals super quick!
i didn't see a pic?
