Re: Summer (well Spring) POLL.

  • I voted "if they look great...", but I feel the need to explain myself.  I typically wouldn't spend more than $50 on sunglasses, but a couple of years ago I bought prescription sunglasses (waaaaaay more than I would ever spend on ANYTHING), and it was the best money I've ever spent.  If I didn't wear glasses, and need prescription sunglasses, I would buy cheap ones since I always seem to break or lose them.

I've never taken better care of sunglasses than I have since I got these.

  • I have the same logic with my sunglasses.  I have had the same pair of Oakleys for 4 years.  I spent 145.00 on them.  I have lost 4 pairs of cheapo sunglasses in that time but I always know where my Oakleys are lol.  For me it is time for a new pair!  I am not fond of the large glasses (Jackie O. Style).  I broke my cheek bone when I was a kid so they tend to rest on part of my face.  I found a pair I LOVE but they are 189.00 in the store, 159.00 online.......I am just having a hard time justifying that one to myself lol.  DH tells me if I like them get them!

  • I voted for "the cheaper the better," not because I'm a complete cheapskate (although that's not uncommon), but because my current pair of sunglasses came from Rite-Aid for about $15.  I looked and looked through the expensive places and didn't find any I liked, but for some reason, these ones are perfect.

  • I voted for "the cheaper the better"

I usually spend about $20 and get them at Target. They have a good selection and I tend to lose or break sunglasses too, so it doesn't break the bank if I have to buy a new pair every year. But I don't seem to have that problem with my real glasses, so maybe I would take better care of them if they were more expensive...

  • i voted cheaper the better, I got mine from pac sun, they are bright blue and they look totally 80s. Love them! I also wear those huge cop glasses with the copper rim lol

  • I voted "less than $100", but just because that's what I spent on my current pair. I got them at the Coach Outlet for $60 - my friend has the same pair and she spent $180 for them!

Before that, I had prescription sunglasses, which were REALLY expensive, but totally worth it after I couldn't wear contacts any more. Thankfully, insurance covered a big chunk of those. I actually still have them somewhere, but since I got Lasik I literally can't wear them anymore. I keep meaning to take them to an eyeglasses place and get plain lenses put in...

  • I voted the cheaper the better because I've had some really great pairs that I've found at TJ Maxx and Target.  The pair I just bought I got from JCPenny for under $15 (on sale from 30) and there is a huge difference in quality...I love them! So, maybe it's worth it spend more than 50 or around that if the protection is better.

  • I went with the cheaper the better. I just got a new pair at wal-mart last night because I lost my other ones...which is why I go for cheap. I like the ones that clip onto the frames of my glasses because then I don't have to worry about the prescription kind. However, I am considering getting contacts when I go to the eye dr on the 21st but I'm not sure.

  • Holy cow, the range starts at $50 or less?!  How about $10 or less!  DH and I usually hit one of those islands in the mall where we can get 2 pairs for $20. :)
