What You Need to Know about the Beef You Eat
This is a great detailed (i.e., long) article from Mother Earth News about how supermarket beef gets from the farm, to the feedlot, to your supermarket.

In short, today?s industrialized process reduces the nutritional value of the meat, stresses the animals, increases the risk of bacterial contamination, pollutes the environment and exposes consumers to a long list of unwanted chemicals.

Re: What You Need to Know about the Beef You Eat
I'll go vegetarian before I eat industrialized beef. yuck.
I want to post this to my facebook page, but I made a promise to myself that I would stop doing that. I'm pretty sure I am thought of as fanatical...and probably annoying. Sadly, if people would take the 15 minutes to read and article they might not want to eat industrialized meat either.
Ha...I was just thinkiing about posting it to Facebook. I probably will a little later anyway.
And I'm with ya on going veg before eating industrialized beef. I bought a steak (good kind) to eat for Christmas last year, and it was a really nice filet, grass-fed, etc and it was pretty good, but really, I actually think I like seafood a lot better. I haven't been eating beef since then, although haven't specifically gone off red meat altogether, just haven't.
