Graduation Gifts

So I've been pondering for a while and probably should have asked all of you for ideas a while ago but here goes...

My husband is the youth pastor at our church and we've both been involvoed with the youth group pretty much since we graduated from high school.  I usually only have a few Seniors that I'm really connected with but for some reason, this year I have quite a few.  It's too many to get them all a nice graduation gift but I've been trying to think of something creative I can give them all and I am totally at a loss.

Has anyone seen any cool DIY projects that could work for a graduation gift?

Re: Graduation Gifts

  • "College Survival Kit" - cute little things for a dorm room - calling card, bandaids, advil, bottled water (2-3 bottles), shower shoes....

Scrapbook - memories from youth group

Inexpensive picture frame with a photo of the two of you, or of the whole group

and I'm all tapped out...I'm not much of a DIY'er.

  • How about making a slideshow with music of pictures of the Youth Group activities from the past few years.  Throw in some bible verses and well wishes.  Burn to the number of CD's needed, put a bow on each, and presto! Grad gifts!
  • Good ideas... keep 'em coming.  Smile

How many kids are there?  # of boys vs girls?

  • I made my sister one of those french bulletin board dealies (fabric board with ribbon criss-crossing it that you can use to stash mail, pictures, etc.) when she graduated out of plywood, cotton batting, fabric remnants from the craft store, and ribbon.  Everything just got stapled on for the most part and it was super easy to do.  Not sure how "cool" it would be for the guys though.
  • There are 10 kids that we're especially close to (5 guys and 5 girls).  I may just give the guys a card from DH so just girl ideas are ok (because I love them more anyway!).

  • I like the decorative picture frame with a picture of the whole group idea.  For girls you could get the metal frames (5x7) that spell out friends in bright letters (hobby lobby are always 50% off).  I know in college I had a ton of pictures framed from high school in my dorm room and I loved it....
