basic veggie garden question... pollenation
This may be a dumb question, but do you need 2 of each type of plant in your garden order for them to be able to pollenate? I bought all of my veggies for my garden in 2's, except I bought 1 blackberry bush. I am all ready to plant it (it's in the flowering state right now), and it dawned on me that I might need a second one for pollenation... I heard that this is true for plants where you use the fruit versus the leaves... is that correct?

I'm a novice here, but I think the plants have both male and female flowers, so as long as there are muliptle flowers, you should be fine. I read that the male flower will just fall off and disappear whereas the female's flower will be followed by the fruit.
I had this question recently when one of my tomato plants flowered. There were only 4 flowers, all fell off and none left fruit. But, I took off the dead branches, and now there are more flowers starting to bud, so I think Mother Nature plans on taking care of it...

Definitely. But most plants you put in your backyard garden should do well. I live in a suburban area and have a variety of veggies in my small garden. I don't really have any duplicates and everything seems to grow/taste just fine... this is the third summer for my garden.
