8 months???

Hello my fellow 10/9/09 ladies.  Can you believe we've hit the 8 month mark?  Congrats!

In light of our first annivesary coming up has anyone started making any plans on how they want to spend their first anniversary this coming October? (this is for everyone...not just those married on the 9th)

Re: 8 months???

  • We took our parents out to lunch after we left the courthouse on our wedding day.  I'm not planning to take our parents out on our first anniversary, but we are thinking about heading back to the restaurant where we had lunch to celebrate.  Especially since I'm pretty sure that Ruth's Chris (our wedding night dinner) won't be happening this year.  It'll be nice, regardless.
  • We had originally planned on going to Europe but...I'll be crazy pregnant on our anniversary so it will probably be dinner out somewhere.

I'd love to go back to Maine where we went for our mini-moon but I don't think I'll be in the mood for 10+ hours in the car, either. Maybe we can go to the beach here and Maryland and just pretend we are in Maine?

  • We'll probably go back to Adobo, since we had our reception there.  It would be nice to escape, but I'll be back in classes.
    Matt loves Munkii!!!
  • I am really hoping I have the baby before our wedding anniversary so we can go to have champagne brunch where our reception was held.  I don't think I will want to leave the baby for that long so a 2 hour brunch plus a 2 hour nap after will be just long enough to leave the baby with my godmother.

  • We're attending a friends wedding on 10/9, so we'll have to schedule around that.  There are still a lot "if"s and "maybe"s right now to plan anything major and October is already shaping up to be a busy month.

I'm all for going back to Mexico, but I hear other beaches calling my name too!

OR you can come up to Maine and revel in the fall foliage with DH and me. Stick out tongue

I really don't know what we'll be doing.  We thought about finding a cute B&B and spending the night in Paris, Maine and pretending we were back in Europe.

I've also been looking around for 1st anniversary "paper" gift ideas and rean across this little gem: http://www.bookbyyou.com/romance/default.asp

Who knows!? Now that we live 3000+ miles from our wedding and honeymoon venues, revisiting is probably out of the question. We are having a friend ship us the top tier of our wedding cake, so at least we'll get to do that tradition. Otherwise, anybody's guess.

  • Peyton is due to arrive on October 23.... so, depending on when she comes, we could potentially have a baby on our anniversary on the tenth. ?I'm thinking our anniversary will be very low key.?

  • We're thinking of going away that weekend, even if it's not too far away from home.  We've talked about staying at the B & B where we stayed on our wedding night.  Then we can walk across the street to the park where we had the ceremony and reminisce.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to be invited to a friend's wedding on the 10th, so on the day of our anniversary we may also be celebrating another couple's wedding day.  We'll see, it's still four months away.
  • Crazy how fast time as flown by.  We are going on a cruise for our 1 year anniversary.  Hopefully this is the last one without kids so we wanted to do something a little larger to celebrate.

  • We're making the cross country trek to San Francisco for our anniversary.  I've only been twice and DH has never been - I'm so excited for him.

  • Well funny you should ask. It changes everyday, but only between 3 places. We were going back to Jamaica where we honeymooned, but then DH Best friend moved to San Diego this week, so we were going to head to San Diego instead. Then DH has never been to Vegas and his other friend and wife live there and surprised us for our wedding so if we are going to make a trip to the West coast we really should visit them as well. So after talking everything over it looks like today we are going to Vegas and his friend from San diego is driving to Vegas and a few other couples are flying over to Vegas as well and we will celebrate with a bunch of our friends for the weekend and then do our own thing for the rest of the week. (DH b-day is also the same week as our anniversary) However that is 4 months away so I am sure it will change again. I am not getting my hopes up on 1 place until the flights are booked.

  • Hmmm....depends on the cash flow situation. For Christmas we were given a one-night hotel stay for a hotel in either San Diego, or SF. If we can afford it, it'll be SD. If not, one wild a crazy night here at home, where we will play tourist in our own home town.
