Road Trip, Passing through Tennessee.
Hi: I am doing a short road trip and will be driving through Tennessee towards Kentucky on I-24 W. Right now we are thinking we will find some fun night life in Nashville so we plan to spend a night there. We want to visit some touristy ?road trippy? stuff (giant balls of string, chickens who play tic tac toe?.) any one know any funny little stops we could make as we go through Tennessee? How about any cool restaurants, bars club to visit in Nashville? Also, are there any unique hotels in the area?

I have no idea what's on I-24, just depends on how far off the road you want to travel, so I'll just give you Nashville recs.
Nashville has the Anheusuer-Busch plant, the basic tour is free and the upgraded one gets you taste tests of lots of beer and a free bottle opener. Downtown area is fun and has lots of great country western stores for Nasville, TN tees and other fun tourist souvenirs. You're also really likely to see a country music star (or two) in any of the bars that have nice stages (I've seen Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, and Jimmy Buffett), if you're into that sort of thing. My best friend has seen Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, and Jimmy Buffett (he just opened a new restaurant downtown, so he's becoming a fixture). Most of the bars there are pretty good, I can't think of any off the top of my head to avoid. The zoo is nice but a little expensive. And after the floods, I'm not sure if Opry Mills is back open yet (I know Opryland isn't), but it's the best mall in Nashville. There's a new Hotel Indigo in downtown that's pretty swank.

There are tons of amazing restaurants in Nashville. Bound'ry has a large menu and cool atmosphere. Check out NashvilleOriginals.com for menus. What kind of bars/clubs are you into? Tribe is a gay bar, but hot damn it is the best freaking bar in Nashville, in my opinion. Great atmosphere, great music, fun people, and occasionally shirtless bartenders.
haha.
What kind of stuff are you into as far as bars/clubs? What day of the week might you be passing through?
