Orlando Restaurants Recs

Hello from the West Coast Florida Board....

H and I are meeting a friend of his in Orlando Friday night for dinner.  My normal go-to spot there is Seasons 52, but that won't work for this trip...

We have to bring our dog with us since this is a stop-over en route to West Palm for the weekend.

Are there any restaurants with outdoor seating where our pooch can hang with us?

Thanks.

Re: Orlando Restaurants Recs

  • I found this list online

You could call first to double check. Most resturants downtown and on Park ave in Winter Park have outside eating and are very dog friendly since a lot of people from the area walk there.

  • You're in luck! Central Florida, in general, tends to be very dog-friendly for dining. We take our weimaraner to dinner with us on a regular basis and have tended to get a warm welcome. (I always make a point of calling ahead, though, because I don't like to put restaurants on the spot if we show up with our dog).

One of our favorites is Olv, which is located in the SoDo shopping complex just south of downtown. We've been there numerous times and the staff is always great to us and our dog. They have upscale sandwiches and salads at lunch, and the menu changes to "small plates" (tapas) for dinner. They have a good wine and beer list.

We also love taking our dog to Cricketer's Arms at the Festival Bay Mall (on International Drive). The manager and staff there love dogs and treat us like VIPs whenever we go out there. It's a British pub, so the menu is beer and pub food, but if you're in the mood for that sort of thing it's a lot of fun.

We've also had good luck with doggy dining in downtown Orlando. A few places I can think of top of head are Relax, Tastings, WaiTiki, the Globe, Urban Flats. Of those, Urban Flats is a favorite. I also believe most of the Thornton Park district is meant to be very dog-friendly, but I haven't eaten at as many of those locations, so I'm not sure which restaurants allow dogs or not (if you call ahead I'm sure they can tell you).

Hope this helps get you started with some ideas! Hope you and your dog have fun!
