2 parts to my post... Our 1 year anniversary is only 3 days away.. hard to believe how fast this year has gone.
1) So do you think the first year was the hardest like they say? Did the year go as you expected or better or worse?
I must say the first year was an adjustment but it wasnt as much of a struggle as I thought it would be.. I had ankle surgery which I did not plan on and definitely made this year interesting, but we got through it. And I must say, waiting to live together until we got married was so worth it, its been a blast... Of course finances are always a struggle and just getting used to the new routine was different.. but all in all it was a great first year !
2) What are your plans for your anniversary weekend?
DH and I are celebrating Saturday night. I am making our reception dinner over again - Pulled Pork BBQ, Scalloped potatoes and peas and carrots. Having sparkling cider as we did at our reception as well... and our baker is remaking our cake for our anniversary - it was part of the price of the wedding cake, so she is bringing that by Saturday morning. Id like to get our champagne glasses out, and maybe even our unity candle. Then Id like to watch our ceremony dvd and photo slideshow and albums. And hopefully some time in the bedroom later. haha. I am soooo excited. I had our DJ (I actually work with him) make us a mix cd of songs we used in the wedding and at the reception and a few songs that were special that day.. so I am giving him that and he made us each a copy. So no special gifts or anything other than a card.. Sunday we have a car show that got rescheduled.. its something we both love so it makes it even more special on our anniversary! And I put the flowers in at our church that day for our anniversary and the in-laws anniversary. I see some new traditions starting!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and anniversary!
Re: June 13 Brides
happy anniversary!
1. I always thought the first year was supposed to be the easiest! It doesn't really feel any different than before. I'm getting used to my last name and my maiden name is starting to sound a little goofy.
2. I think we're going to go to the bakery that made our dessert, hopefully a wine tasting, hiking and ending with a yummy steak dinner at our favorite place.
