My DH keeps telling me that I should be getting breaks at work. If I work 730-330...and 8 hour shift, am I entitled to a break? I'm not getting any right now and thats fine, I'm just trying to see if he knows what he's talking about
Re: ? about work breaks
I believe you are entitled to an unpaid 30 minute break, so that would mean 30 minutes less of pay or staying until 4:00.
I think only minors are required to take scheduled breaks.
I work 7a.m. to 5 p.m. without a break.

This is accurate. As an adult you don't have to take a break, but if you do set aside a specific 30 minutes, it's unpaid.
Beyond that, it depends on the company. Where I work, if hourly staff work 6 hours or more (from in-punch to out-punch) the payroll software automatically deducts a half hour because it just assumes you took a half-hour break. If you didn't take a break, you have to fill out a form with all the dates where that half hour needs to be added back in, so you can get paid for it. It's really annoying.
