Best inexpensive day trips?
My SO turns 30 (gulp!) in January and I would like to take him on a mini-vacation, probably just a two or so day thing.
Vegas and LA are out (he doesn't like Vegas and grew up in the LA area) and my only other thoughts were Sedona and Catalina, but both look pretty expensive.
Does anyone else have any suggestions?? Thanks!!
Re: Best inexpensive day trips?
Catalina is fun. Last Feb. we spent two nights in Julian at the Inn at Strawberry Hill. It was awesome.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
Here are the three we've done in the past and enjoyed for a 3-4 day weekend:
Julian, Palm Springs and Santa Barbara (in order of cheapest to most expensive but still not more than $500 for three nights in the hotel and food/travel expenses)
