Dishwasher Soap Scum

Hi ladies,

Any advice on how to get rid of the nasty soap scum that my dishwasher is leaving behind?  I've tried liquid and pellet soaps, both generic and name brands.

Re: Dishwasher Soap Scum

  • Do you mean on the dishes?  They making cleaning stuff for the inside of the dishwasher.

To get rid of the film on my dishes I ended up getting a water softener and didn't have a problem with the white film on my dishes.

  • I use white distilled vinegar in every load. You may want to dump in a couple cups when it is empty to kind of clean it out and run a cycle that way. I use about 1/4-1/3 cup per load. Just dump it right in the bottom.
  • I had this same problem and tryed alot of different things. What worked for me, was a dishwasher cleaner. We had hard water so I began using Lemishine on every load, you can purchase it at Walmart.
