St. Charles or Fenton, MO

Hi! I'm coming to St. Louis on 6/24 for a couple of nights. I have some gift cards that are good for the Fairfield Inn. I found one in St. Charles and one in Fenton, MO. Are both cities good locations? I have never been to St. Louis before and like any city I've heard there are some areas to avoid. So before I choose either location I thought I would check and make sure I wouldn't end up in a bad part of town. I can't wait to see your city!!

  • I would say either of them are equally safe (I know where both of them are).  Both are close to major highways (The St. Charles one  is close to 70 and Fenton is close to 44).  Depending on what you are doing while here, that may decide where you should stay.

  • I agree with previous poster.  If you plan on doing things Downtown, they are about equi-distant. I-44 is a bit more convenient for Forest Park, Grant's Farm, Six Flags, but I-70 will get you to casinos and wine country, in addition to the Old Town area of St. Charles, which is filled with antique stores, quaint shops and restaurants.

    THIS.

Depending on where you're doing, i'd pick the hotel closer.  Those areas are about 1/2 hour from each other.

  • Thank you for the replies! We decided to stay in Fenton. Sounds like it will be a little bit closer to the areas we'll be in.
