Am back!!

How was your week/weekend?!

Ours was very relaxing... We were on a cruise in Bermuda...  our first cruise-and most likely not our last!  Word to the wise... we did go on Holland America-and, although the service and food was great, the crowd was a much older one.  We'll prob go with Celebrity or Carnival next time and save HA for when we're retired.

All in all, we had a great time-our goal was to relax and that we did!  We had one REALLY BAD rough day at sea and I survived.  I also did 2 spinning classes, did a 5K walk on the ship for cancer, and did 2 other workouts on the ship.... and only gained 4 lbs-which I don't think is too bad considering I didn't have any control over butter and sugar in my foods.

What did you all do?

Re: Am back!!

  • Welcome back!  Sounds like you had a great time!  How did you like Bermuda?

My weekend was ok...but way too short!  Friday we went out to dinner with friends.  Saturday we spent with my family.  And yesterday we bought a new laptop to replace our old computer (and since we'll be getting rid of our office to put in a nursery, we need a more compact and mobile computer to use throughout the house).  I hope it works really well!  It was really nice at the store!

  • (and happy belated Birthday to you!)

I love our laptop!  I take it everywhere---catch up on tv in whatever room I want to be in ... I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Bermuda was relaxing-very beautiful!  There was stuff to do, but we did some beachy stuff, visited a lighthouse, shopped a little... did a carriage ride.  Small island-not a lot of poverty.  Def not a place for big partying and such like other islands.  Gas is $8/gal there.  Drivers are crazy there, too!  As my sister says, there are no rollercoasters there, so she wouldn't want to live there, but if you golf-it's a golfer's paradise!

  • I was there about 8 years ago and had a nice time.  It's such a pretty island.  I remember the drivers...crazy!  All the roads are so windy, too!  There was a seafood restaurant (in Hamilton I think) that was amazing!  It was so nice to relax on the pretty beaches there!

  • Wow, I'm impressed with all the working out you did on your cruise!  I'm glad you had a good time.  I've never been on Royal Caribbean, but my sister LOVES them.  Just a thought for your next cruise.

DH and I started our baby registry on Saturday.  Luckily we'd already done a lot of research and knew what we wanted, so we didn't have to spend hours in Babies R Us.  I don't know why, but every time I go there I'm the only married pregnant woman over the age of 17.  Very odd.  I'm going back in 2 weeks with a good friend who is going to help me with all the small stuff because it's overwhelming (why are there so many bottle choices??).

  • Glad ya'll had fun, and good for you doing all that working out. I would not have been so good.

I hope DH & I can go on a cruise soon, we've been thinking about it.

  • Sounds like you had tons of fun!! Too bad it was mostly an older crowd.

Our weekend was good. I can't remember what we did Friday. I'm pretty sure I passed out when I got home from work since I only had 2 1/2 hours of sleep from the night before. Then I got up and stayed up late lol.

Saturday we slept in which was lovely. We headed to Charlotte to make a delivery and got Taco Bell/KFC. I don't know why other than it being an old high school tradition,  but DH and I were stoked to find an actual TB/KFC. We eneded up watching tv and playing games the rest of the night once we got home.

Sunday we got up early to try to get back on a work sleep schedule (didn't work at all and made me even more tired today). We went to the pool and hungout. We grilled hotdogs for lunch and lounged in the house the rest of the day. We did some minor cleaning, but mostly gamed. We took 2 walks in the evening once it cooled down though.

We didn't do too much, but it was nice to relax. As always, I just wish it was longer!

we sort of knew this going in(the older crowd)-but as it was a 'gift' to us... I have heard RC is great, though!  And Carnival.

  • Sounds like you had tons of fun!

    My weekend was pretty good.

Friday - We went to SIL's graduation from HS.  It was nice but long.  She had 1,033 kids in her class!!

Saturday - We went to the Brad Paisley concert.  It was an early b-day present from my parents.  Aside from some minor drama it was awesome!

Sunday - DH was hungover and I was tired so we just had a lazy day around the house.

  • DH and I have talked about going on a cruise to Bermuda. I kind of like the idea of stopping at one port for a few days and then having some at sea days. Please post pictures!!!

We went on a Princess cruise for our honeymoon and loved it. The ship was great and the service was wonderful. The food was good but not over the top but we would go with Princess again in a heart beat.

Our weekend was ok. We were lazy for a good part of it. We did get a lot of yard work done before it rained.

  • as I'm HORRIBLE at posting pics here... I may just have to do the FB version... I've downloaded them to the computer--some neat ones of the Verranzano Bridge leaving Manhattan and some of one of the lighthouses...

My mother said Princess was good, too.  I've heard Celebrity and Royal Caribbean are as well.  We were in a smaller ship.

  • I'm glad you had fun, Lori!

    My weekend was crazy...

Friday: a good friend of mine came to stay the night and help us get ready for our yard sale. We spent the evening in the garage, pricing stuff.

Saturday: got up at 5, dragged stuff out to set up, did the sale (fantastic weather, thank goodness), put everything that didn't sell back in the garage, went to my friend's house for a bbq, because she helped with the sale and I didn't feel like I could say no, even though I was exhausted.

Sunday: got up at 6, dragged stuff out without N's help because he got sick, cleaned up vomit, babied N, made a store run for Gatorade and groceries, helped Mom run the sale, sorted items into Goodwill and keep stacks, made dinner for everyone, entertained SMIL who arrived an hour earlier than she was supposed to, while we were still taking down the sale stuff.

This morning, got up at 4:30 to get ready for work and take SMIL to the airport.

    Gah.

  • So jealous of your cruise, even if it was with a silver haired crowd.

Our weekend was pretty nice . . . I didn't give Bebe to my parents for their usual Friday nighter since I had been apart from her so long when I had the flu.

Saturday my cousin was in town with her new BF so they came by for a little while to visit.  Went to church with my mom and then our old roommate came by for dinner.  I loved getting to see so many special people in one day!

Sunday my brother helped me with R's Father's Day gift . . . and then R and I ran some errands.  After that, just a nice lazy afternoon at home working on Bebe's birthday party stuff.

All in all . . . pretty OK weekend!
