Couples who love wine!

Looking for other couples to do wine tastings/dinners with...  Who's into it?  Haven't really found anyone who loves wine like we do!  Would love to plan a GTG!!!

Re: Couples who love wine!

  • We LOVE wine!!  I mean we have a problem over here.  We went wine tasting one weekend, and came home with 6.5 CASES of wine.  :)

Are you new to the board?  Haven't seen you around before....welcome!!!

  • New to the threads here...  Never really got into it but have been looking at thenest website for years!  One of my faves!  :)  And finally, here I am!  What wineries have you been to?  Just local tasting or...???  The 6.5 cases sounds like my husband and I!  haha  I love it!  We have a favorite winery in Carlton that we love...  a tad far to drive but not bad!
  • We are currently members of the Naked Winery wine club in Hood River and recently ended our membership at Cathedral Ridge in Hood River.  We've also been members at De Ponte Cellars as well.

My favorite wineries are Domaine Serene, Sokul Blosser, Archery Summit, and Cliff Creek (which I think is in Carlton).

We bought the 6.5 cases while doing the red wine and chocolate weekend in the Yakima/Columbia Valley in WA that they have every february.  There are some fantastic wineries there as well and worth it to make a weekend trip.

  • I love wine, hubby is learning to. Love touring the local wineries here and back home in Eastern Washington. Hubby thinks he is lucky if the wine trip equals less than 6 new bottles. Would love a wine GTG. Big Smile
  • DH & I love wine.  We've only been to a few wineries here: Domaine Serene, Domaine Drouhin, Eyrie & Shea.

Recently I bought a Groupon for the Red Slate Wine Co. in SE.  We are going to be taking a 1.5 hour class about wines from different regions of the world & 7 tastings are included.  I haven't actually done it yet but it seems really fun.

We would def be down for a wine tasting GTG!!

  • Mmmm yum...  I'm gonna have to check out Naked Winery, Cathedral and De Ponte...  We love Canas Feast in Carlton...  Yummy and their dinners are great!  I heard Cascade Cliffs up in WA is beautiful and I'd love to visit there!  :)
  • Miss Maverick which wineries are you into?  What are your faves??  :)
  • weisens2, I'm into hearing about the Red SLate and what the experience is like...  You'll have to keep me posted!  I'm going to check it out...  sounds really fun!  When was that on Groupon?  I get those emails everyday and have taken advantage of a few great deals but don't remember seeing this one!  :/

Girls, we should def get together for a wine tasting somewhere...  Bunch of couple, some yummy food and wine and I'm in heaven!

  • It was on June 6th I think.  Here's the website tho:

    http://www.redslatewine.com/index.cfm

I joined their email list & David sends out emails when he gets new wines or is having specials for "email list" members only.  Might want to check it out... although sometimes I get myself on too many list servs & then I regret it...   :P   You can rent out the place to do private party wine tastings, you can take classes or you can just go for happy hour 4-7 pm.  I can't wait to check it out.

  • Yay!!!  I'm going to check it out!  Girls, there is a deal on Living Social today for a 5.5 hr wine tour for only $39 per person!  Sounds like a blast!  I think I'm going to sign up!  :))  Let me know if any of you purchase it also!  Would be fun to do it together!
  • Lots of the Yakima/Eastern Columbia Valley wines like Hogue and Chateau Ste. Michelle. Covery Run is also a good backup for Yakima Wines.

Here around the Portland area I like Lemelson (Carlton I believe), Naked Winery, Catherdal and Oak Knoll.

Hubby just got me a book about the wine trails of Oregon and there are 10 wineries here in Portland?!?!? Thinking that I need to hit all those and then start on the trip recommendations and have some fun Saturdays coming up.
