Cheap Beach House

DH and I decided we'd like to spend a week at the beach (preferably OBX) in mid-July.  We are hoping to send around $600 for a pet-friendly small place for a week.  Since it is last minute, we are struggling to find a place.  Currently, VRBO has been our primary source.  Does anyone have suggestions for other spots to look?

Try Craigs list .. the other week we did a last minute trip to Myrtle and I found some deals on there. I guess someone had backed out and they were just trying to get something. The only thing is you may have to wait until the week or so before...

My parents have used these two rental companies. Good luck, that's both the most expensive and most popular timeframe on the OBX.

Honestly, I am not sure if you could get that price even if you booked a year in advance. Mid- July is prime season.

Ditto curbside- most places are going to be more costly than that during high season. My family goes through Brindley Beach vacations for OBX rentals- you could try them! I know sometimes some of the homes will do discounted weeks if they haven't been rented close to the start of the rental period.
