Car seat and diaper change = impossible!!!!!!!

I am getting so frustrated that my little "Super, Super Strong WOMAN" is so strong and makes it impossible to get her into her car seat and change her diaper.  She squirms and twists and does every thing possible to make this not happen.  She needs her diaper changed now and I don't feel like doing it because it is so hard.  I seriously think she is stronger than I am.

Re: Car seat and diaper change = impossible!!!!!!!

  • Maybe you should enter her in the strongest baby contest?????
  • Jacob has always loved to squirm during diaper changes, my solution was to give him a book to look at. ?Just a little small one. ?It usually does the trick!

For the carseat, I have no advice, Jacob loves his seat and is fascinated by the buckles.?

  • I am going to film me trying to change it....lol.  Oh boy.  I have given her everything to calm her down.  The latest is the wipes, she likes to suck them....ewe.
  • Reese hasn't given me any problems with getting in the carseat yet, but she's all but impossible to get in a high chair or shopping cart seat. She straight legs and refuses to sit and if I get her to sit down she finds a way to wiggle enough slack into the belt to stand up. She also gets away from me at every diaper change and laughs as I chase after her!

This stage usually passes pretty quickly though. She's just exerting some independence and testing the boundries. Good luck and I hope she out grows it soon!

  • Man...it must be Friday because the way I read your post and the title was that you were able to change her diaper while in her car seat....and I was in total amazement!!

    D'oh!

  • Mindy I thought the same thing so don't feel bad.  I thought wow, people can do that?  Sounds tough.
  • i'm pretty sure this is why my sister lets my niece spend so much time running around "nekkid."
  • Aw man Julie!  Jewel does the same thing!  For diaper changes I mean, she's good about her car seat.  I just have to wipe real quick and then she's off crawling bare bottom.  She loves to suck on wipes too! lol!  I'm tired of fighting so I just let her.  I think Jewel has some super strength powers too, dang these babies are strong (you'll see Jayme!)  Katie and Jewel are only a few weeks apart so it's just a faze Noah did the same thing now he's fine with changes.

  • I can't wait until this is over.  I filmed her last 2 diaper changes and it was no big deal.  I think she found the camera and was looking at it trying to figure out why I was filming her get her diaper changed...lol.
  • Crying, screaming, squirming...if DH isn't around to help hold'em down, I do the diaper change on the floor or on the bed, across me so that I can lay them down with their chest/tummy "stuck" (but not really) under one bent knee.  Hope you got that visual.  LOL!

Car seat - man that's hard.  I've taken them out of the car, stood them up to the side, shut their door, then get in my seat and shut that door too.  Usually after a few seconds of figuring out that I may leave them in the garage, they will cooperate.  One time, I even started the car and pretended to back up.  Ai that was with Jos, so I anticipate something similar with Nat too.

    I'm serious!  I'm mean!
