AW: I am shooting a wedding reception

I am working slowly on turning my passion for photography into a freelance job. I posted an ad on CL just to see if I would even get any bites with no portfolio. I already have 2 clients, one is for family photos and the other is a wedding reception. I'm excited but nervous all at once.

If you want to see my VERY basic portfolio just PM me since the site is password protected.

I can't even believe it! =D

Re: AW: I am shooting a wedding reception

  • Have you seen the photography board on the Bump? You also might want to check out ILP or I love photography dot com. There are a ton of pro photographers that can give you honest feedback about your work there. I am a hobbyist myself but I know it takes a lot of skill and business knowledge to start your own photography business. I hope you make everything legal with paying taxes and getting a business license and all that. If you want I can take a look at your portfolio and give you some feedback.
  • I have, I'm a tad bit intimidated posting over there. I have been "training" with one of my good friends who is a professional photographer. I am making everything legal. I just want to see if I can "hack" it right now, I'm working under her business #.  But I'm flying solo next month!

I had a business minor in college, I feel like I have (a pretty) good idea of contracts. My minor was in entrepreneurial-ship. We already have a tax man, that I have contact as far as paying taxes.

This isn't my first time with a dSLR, but  this is the first one that I OWN.

I'm sending you a PM with my site and password. Thank you for looking it over, I only have 10 photos up right now. I have been shooting in RAW and editing them on my own, since I enjoy editing.
