I'm the new lunch coordinator for my college's alumni club, and it's my job to pick the restaurants for our monthly lunches. I have 2 toddlers, so if it's not kid friendly, I probably don't know about it! Looking for ideas from you all for great lunch spots all over SA. We switch up the location every month, so recos from all over town are welcome and appreciated!
Thank you!!
Re: Favorite lunch spots?
I am the San Antonio alumni club officer for my school, and although we haven't done lunch, we have done evening get-togethers and had good experiences at the Lion and Rose Pub on Sonterra (although there are several), Wing Stop on IH 10, and Fox and Hound off IH 10 and DeZavala. We typically have about 30 or so folks come out and everyone pays on their own, but we are usually just doing drinks and appetizers.
Good luck!
Here are some places we've gone with my sorority alumnae group for lunch bunch:
Little Italy
Peasano's
La Fonda
La Hacienda
La Posada
My college alumni group always meets at Broadway 50/50 (at 5050 Broadway Ave--lol) for football games. It's a bar, so sometimes there are a couple smokers, but it usually isn't bad and the burgers are so good! It's a fun atmosphere too. There is another one at I-10 and Wuzbach, but I've never been there.
Freetails Brewing Company at NW Military and 1604 is a fun place too--good beer and good pizza. It's not a bar, so much more kid friendly and more space for bigger groups.
hope this helps!
Here are a few:
Los Barrios
Longhorn Cafe
The Cove
Chris Madrids
Mamacitas
Alamo Cafe
Harmon's BBQ in Cibolo is an awesome place. It has a back room so it's good for groups. It is like the wild west - wood floors, smoking meat in the backyard....it's neat.
