How much do you save? Clicky

The budget post below inspired me. [Poll]

  • GO poll!

andddd I already f'd up your poll... our savings right now are at 50%.

  • So I did a guess-a-roony here on the poll but we save about $1,000 a month but also a side note should be that we just started that this month :) before then it was a lot more difficult to save, we were mostly pay check to paycheck until CJ started his new job.

  • Um ya, I answered based on just me, didnt factor in DH.

Oh well. :)  You get the picture...

  • I have no idea the % but we save about $420 a month...$80 a week goes into our ING account (this is for when we get a damn house) and $50 a paycheck goes into our Chase savings (and this is for smaller things).

  • I'm not sure about the percentage, so I just picked one, ha!  But, I put 6% of each paycheck into a Fidelity retirement account, and I put $200 from each paycheck into my savings automatically.   We put $100 each into a Hartford Life Insurance policy/stock thing.  DH has retirement with Arizona State Retirement System but I'm not sure how much goes into it.  He also puts I think $100 from each of his paychecks into his savings account (we have separate savings but joint checking, kinda weird I know).

We could and technically do save more each month, but it remains in our checking account because we have a higher interest rate on our checking than savings accounts.  We just make sure that we act like we don't have that money.

  • Hahah... yeah... I'm a newly single lady living off of disability.  There is no saving for me right now!
  • before I quit work it was around 50-55% now we are prolly at 5 because things are so tight until DH gets his raise
