In the poll below you said you wanted to talk. I'm in and out of meetings all day but I have my lunch hour to chat if you'd like. Just a little background about myself I'm a mechanical engineer that specializes in HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) design for large, complex commercial buildings like labs and hospitals. I also am a LEED (Leadership for Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional and a I create whole building energy models to determine just how much energy is being saved. I do have some residential construction experience in that my husband and I are renovating our 37 year old home and that both my father and father-in-law are carpenters who have built multiple residential homes.
Where are you located? That makes a big difference in how you make a home energy efficient.
Re: *thew8isover* - Home Energy Efficiency
I'm sorry, I'm just not getting to this. Work has been crazy and I'm just now looking online. We're in SW PA and we're looking to build new construction. Your comment in the post about fireplaces got us rethinking getting a fireplace, but I did look online for the proper way to use the dampers. So I learned something.
The builder is a national energy star certified builder if that means anything.
Thanks
