As per Brandy's request...

When DH was a little kid, his older sister, mom, and dad rented a house in Corona. From the moment they moved in, they never felt right living in this house.

Let me see if I can recount some of the incidents that would happen in the house:

  • Their cat would always get trapped in the attic even though there was no way the cat could climb into there.  There were no stairs and all possible entrances were secured.
  • The swimming pool was always dark no matter how many times it was cleaned. If you had the nerve to go in to the pool, you felt like ?something? didn?t want you there and would grab you from the bottom of the pool. DH and his sister loved to swim, but they were always too scared to go into the pool.
  • In DH?s bedroom, he had only one window. At night, you could see headlights shine into the room (when there was no car), circle around the room from wall to another, and stop at his closet door, The door would open and a male figure would stand up from the sitting position, clean his eyeglasses, and look around the room. He would sit down again and the door would close.
In fact, a friend of DH?s came to sleep over and experienced this incident, too. He screamed and cried and they had to call his mom to come pick him up.
  • My personal favorite: In SIL?s bedroom, she had wallpaper that was a field of flowers. Quite often, they would hear a little girl?s laugh. If you looked at the wall at that time, you could see a little girl running through the field of flowers in the wallpaper.

I thought DH was playing a joke on me when he told me this stuff, but his mom and sister confirm it. They don?t like to talk about it in detail. All they would say is, ?Whatever he says about the Corona house is true and it was not a good time in our lives.?

They lived there for only a school year. After school had ended, DH and his sister went to Michigan to visit relatives. By the time they returned, their mom and dad moved into a new house.

It still creeps me out as I'm typing this.
