Help us plan our anniversary vacation!
So we wanted to do like a week long trip somewhere, but we think we can do max, a three-four day weekend. Probably something domestic just to avoid the chaos of international travel for such a short trip. It would also be nice if wherever we were going is close to a major airport and has decent public transportation or the ability to walk. We COULD rent a car, but we'd like to be able to avoid that expense if possible.
So let's have it. If you and your hubs were going on a 3-4 day getaway, what would be on your list?
Re: Help us plan our anniversary vacation!
We've talked about going to Charleston, but I think that definitely needs to be a summer trip. We're kinda flexible with dates, but we're hoping to go sometime in October... it's out anniversary present to each other. (I hope we do this every year, I need an excuse to travel more)
Have you been keeping an eye on Jetsetter? They've been having options is decent cities/locations lately. If you want to do close int'l, they're having a sale on a resort in the DR.
What about New Orleans? Thats where I am from and I love visiting there no matter how short a visit. There is so much to do and it is really a fun city (even if you don't like the crazy wild party club scene - which we don't).
Regardless of where you choose, if it was me I would make sure the place had plenty of things to do because you never know how the weather is going to be, how you are going to feel, etc. With such a short amount of time you wouldn't want a day to be wasted if say you planned an outdoor activity and it rained and you had no back up plan.
Ps-If you do go to NOLA I can recommend some great places/activities if you need them
What about a 3-4 day caribeean cruise? The airfair from Atlanta to Miami will be nothing - you could easily do it all for under $1000.
I think NOLA or San Fran could definitely be contenders. I think most of the 3 day cruises are to the bahamas and on like the smaller, crappier boats (I could be wrong though, so please let me know).
And I totally agree we want to go someplace with tons to do no matter the weather, so that's good to keep in mind.
Yeah, I follow the Jetsetter thing like CRAZY! I wish I worked for them. How cool would that job be?
MY BLOG!
I would go to Seattle. Tons to do and see there, plus you could take a little cruise or even visit Vancouver. You could do brunch at the Space Needle and have Mt. Rainier in the background, be all touristy at Pikes Market, and take a boat to the local small islands.
If I couldn't do Seattle then I'd head to Vegas. I could easily convince MH that we should go to Seattle, but not so much on the Vegas trip. Oh well.
And take a side trip to Forks!!!
What's Forks?
What's Forks?? You have to be kidding, right?
Bella... Edward...Jacob.... hint hint hint
San Fran/Monterey! That's where we're going for our anniversary trip. You could spend two weeks or 4 days...I love it there.
DH has never been and I can't wait to take him.
I don't do Twilight. Does that make me weird? I haven't read any of the books or seen the movies. Not my thing. I've also been Harry Potter free all my life. No judging!
Not weird... just terrible, terribly deprived! You don't know what you're missing!
(On both accounts, read the books - they're quick, easy reads. See the movies later.)
We've actually been to Savannah twice this year, haha. Great minds!
